Script and Movie Development - Long Tan the movie
The producers, Writer / Director Bruce Beresford and Writer Justin Monjo (Farscape, The Alice) are continuing to work on refining the script for Long Tan. It is anticipated that a new draft will be ready in June 2008.

Australian Government Releases Review of Recognition for the Battle of Long Tan
The Government has today (30 April 2008) released the reports of the independent review of recognition for the Battle of Long Tan. The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Alan Griffin, the Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Support, Dr Mike Kelly, and Senator John Faulkner will carefully consider the reports of the independent panel before settling the Government’s response in consultation with the Prime Minister. Long Tan the movie attracts additional film heavyweights
Martin Walsh and Charles Hannah have secured the highly regarded skills of two Los Angeles based Executive Producers; Meyer Shwarzstein
and Peter Whetherell. Both Meyer and Peter have more than 20 years production, sales and distribution experience across the USA and the international film and television industries. Meyer recently co-produced the box office hit, Bridge to Terabithia. The producing team and Bruce Beresford are now working on refining the script and securing some of the lead cast.

The Battle of Long Tan wins the ASTRA Award for "Most Outstanding Documentary"!
In a gala event at the Horden Pavillion in Sydney on 23rd April, the Battle of Long Tan won the award for "Most Outstanding Documentary" at the 2007 ASTRA Awards (Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association)

Red Dune Films secures two Australian film industry heavyweights to help bring Long Tan to the big screen
Acclaimed Australian writer and director, Bruce Beresford (Breaker Morant, Driving Miss Daisy, Double Jeopardy) has been secured to write and direct a feature film based upon the story of the Battle of Long Tan
. Red Dune Films has also secured veteran film industry executive Charles Hannah as Executive Producer for Long Tan. Charles executive produced the critically acclaimed Worlds Fastest Indian starring Anthony Hopkins and directed by Roger Donaldson and he recently produced the colourful docu/drama, Unfolding Florence directed by Gillian Armstrong.

The Bloody Battle of Long Tan - The Movie
The story of how a group of young Australian conscripts, plucked from obscurity, prevailed in one of the most ferocious battles of the Vietnam War is being developed as a feature film.
