Project Update - Long Tan the movie
Writer / Director Bruce Beresford and Writer Justin
Monjo (Farscape, The Alice) are currently working through the final draft of the movie script. The producers are actively working on packaging some of the creative elements of the film and are confident of having the finance and domestic and international distribution agreements in place before the close of 2009.

Sam Worthington who is currently starring alongside The
Dark Knight’s Christian Bale in Terminator
Salvation now shooting in the US, has told the producers he is keen to be considered for a major role in the Bruce Beresford directed film about the seminal conflict of the Vietnam War – the Battle of Long Tan. Full

Long Tan veterans to get awards
Australian
Vietnam War veterans who fought in the Battle of Long Tan
will be able to wear a unit citation and three officers will
receive top gallantry awards. The officer who commanded Australian
troops in the action says his men finally have been given
the justice they deserve, 42 years after the bloody Vietnam
War conflict.

heavyweights
Martin Walsh and Charles Hannah have secured
the highly regarded skills of two Los Angeles based Executive Producers;
Meyer Shwarzstein
and
Peter Whetherell. Both Meyer and Peter have more than 20 years production,
sales and distribution experience across the USA and the international
film and television industries.
Meyer recently co-produced the box office hit, Bridge to Terabithia.
The
producing team and Bruce Beresford are now working on refining the
script and securing some of the lead cast.
The Battle
of Long Tan wins the ASTRA Award for "Most Outstanding Documentary"!
In a gala event at the Horden Pavillion
in Sydney on 23rd April, the Battle of Long Tan won the award for "Most
Outstanding Documentary" at the 2007 ASTRA Awards (Australian
Subscription Television and Radio Association).

to help bring Long Tan to the big screen
Acclaimed Australian writer and director,
Bruce Beresford (Breaker Morant, Driving Miss Daisy, Double Jeopardy)
has been secured to write and direct a feature film based upon
the story of the Battle of Long Tan.
Red Dune Films has also secured veteran film industry executive
Charles Hannah as Executive Producer for Long Tan. Charles executive
produced the critically
acclaimed
Worlds
Fastest
Indian starring Anthony Hopkins and directed by Roger Donaldson
and he recently produced the colourful docu/drama, Unfolding Florence
directed by Gillian Armstrong.
